My take on Johnny Manziel

Everybody knows Johnny Manziel is the most dangerous QB/Athlete that ever played quarterback.
People call him a 'running quarterback'. People call him a bust. People call him a circus clown.
But at the end of the day, he is a football player.

That's exactly what he is.
I have my own personal doubts and red flags regarding Manziel, such as the Manning Passing Academy gaffe, the involvement at a Texas fraternity party, etc.
But I do like his professionalism and the way he carries himself on the field (aside from the incident against Rice in the opening week of the season). He's a team player, and he tries to carry his team. That's evident based on his gaudy statistics (5,116 total yards in 2012, 47 total TD) and 3,773 passing yards and 37 passing TD to 13 INT's. (Correct me on any inaccuracies regarding his stats).

He is one of the most physically gifted athletes that play QB, as I have said before. His arm is comparable to that of all the top QB's in the draft. There's no doubting his running ability too. I do know that he knows that he can't just play backyard football in the NFL and that he won't last long if he does. Having said that, with the arm and wheels that he has, and his size at just under 6'0" and a bit over 200 pounds, he has the frame of Russell Wilson with the speed and running ability of Colin Kaepernick, although Kaepernick is six inches taller and over 30 pounds heavier.

If he didn't have gaudy statistics, I think he's a second or third-round grade instead of top-5 pick, just like Wilson. The only difference between Wilson and Manziel is that Wilson has a super bowl title and has already embarked his status as an elite quarterback in the NFL.

That means the expectations for Manziel are extremely high, and while Russell Wilson has raised his since he has entered the league, Manziel faces a much tougher challenge than Wilson did coming out of college.
Manziel is capable of meeting those expectations and I do think he'll be successful. Top-5 is a possibility, and while not the most likely, I still think he'll be a very good NFL quarterback.
